Hawaii Fundraising Registration Requirements

Hawaii law requires that charitable organizations and institutions that solicit contributions in or from this state register with the Attorney General’s Office. The Hawaii law governing charity registration is found in Nonprofit Corporations Act, Title 23, Ch. 414D.

Requirements: Governing Documents, IRS Form 990 and Financial Statement

Annual Renewal: Yes

Annual Renewal Fee: Sliding scale fee up to $600.

Extension Available: Automatic

Does charitable registration require a Registered Agent: No

Hawaii offers Educational, Hospital and Religious Exemptions.
