Missouri Fundraising Registration Requirements

Missouri law requires that charitable organizations and institutions that solicit contributions in or from this state register with the Attorney General’s Office. Organizations that are 501(c)(3)’s are however can request an exemption from this reporting requirement. The Missouri law governing charity registration is found in Missouri Revised Statutes Ch. 355.

To register in Missouri:

Complete the Initial Nonprofit Registration Form and mail to:

      PO Box 899
      Jefferson City, MO 65102

Initial Filing Fee: $15

Requirements: Governing Documents, IRS Form 990 and Financial Statement

Annual Renewal: Yes

Annual Renewal Fee: $15

Does charitable registration require Corporate Registration: No

Does charitable registration require a Registered Agent: No
