New York Fundraising Registration Requirements

New York law requires that charitable organizations and institutions that solicit contributions in or from this state register with the Office of the Attorney General. The New York law governing charity registration is found in NYCRR Title 13, Chapter 5; Article 7-A, Executive Law.

To register in New York:

Complete the Form CHAR 410 – Registration Statement and mail to:

      Charities Bureau
      120 Broadway, 3rd Floor
      New York, NY 10271

Initial Filing Fee: $25

Requirements: Governing Documents, IRS Form 990, IRS Form 1023, and Financial Statement

Annual Renewal: Yes

Annual Renewal Fee: $25

Extension Available: Yes

Does charitable registration require Corporate Registration: No

Does charitable registration require a Registered Agent: No
