North Dakota Fundraising Registration Requirements

North Dakota law requires that charitable organizations and institutions that solicit contributions in or from this state register with the Secretary of State. The North Dakota law governing charity registration is found in NDCC Ch. 50-22.

To register in North Dakota:

Complete the Certificate of Authority Application and the Charitable Organization Registration and mail to:

      Bismarck, ND 58505

Initial Filing Fee: $75

Requirements: Governing Documents, Certificate of Good Standing, and either IRS Form 990 or an Audited Financial Statement

Annual Renewal: Yes

Annual Renewal Fee: $10

Extension Available: Yes

Does charitable registration require Corporate Registration: Yes

Does charitable registration require a Registered Agent: Yes

North Dakota offers Educational and Religious Exemptions.
