Ohio Fundraising Registration Requirements

Ohio law requires that charitable organizations and institutions that solicit contributions in or from this state register with the Attorney General’s Office. The Ohio law governing charity registration is found in Ohio Revised Code Ch. 1716; 109:1-1, 109.23.

To register in Ohio:

Complete the Initial Charitable Organization Registration online.

Initial Filing Fee: Sliding scale up to $200

Annual Renewal: Yes

Extension Available: Automatic

Does charitable registration require a Registered Agent: No

Ohio offers Educational and Religious Exemptions.
