Oregon Fundraising Registration Requirements

Oregon law requires that charitable organizations and institutions that solicit contributions in or from this state register with the Department of Justice. The Oregon law governing charity registration is found in Oregon Revised Statutes Ch. 65.

To register in Oregon:

Complete the Charitable Organization Registration Statement and mail to:

      Department of Justice
      Charitable Activities Section
      100 SW Market Street
      Portland, OR 97201

Initial Filing Fee: $0

Requirements: Governing Documents, IRS Form 990 and Financial Statement

Annual Renewal: Yes

Annual Renewal Fee: Sliding scale fee up to $400

Extension Available: Yes

Does charitable registration require Corporate Registration: No

Does charitable registration require a Registered Agent: No

Oregon offers Educational and Religious Exemptions.
