Alliance Resource Center - The Alliance is dedicated to building and transferring knowledge related to nonprofit management and governance. In our collaborative approach to disseminate nonprofit management information, we have made available the new Alliance Resource Center (ARC), still under development. You will find here hundreds of resources representing the work of hundreds of organizations, all working to help nonprofit agencies and nonprofit management support professionals manage their businesses more efficiently and effectively. Council on Foundations - The Council on Foundations is a membership organization that serves the public good by promoting and enhancing responsible and effective philanthropy. The main page includes information of interest to those seeking to start of foundation, but also to understand how foundations work. Give.org - Give.org is the web site for the BBB Wise Giving Alliance. The BBB Wise Giving Alliance was formed in 2001 with the merger of the National Charities Information Bureau and the Council of Better Business Bureaus Foundation and its Philanthropic Advisory Service. The BBB Wise Giving Alliance collects and distributes information on hundreds of nonprofit organizations that solicit nationally or have national or international program services. The site includes links to their Wise Giving Guide, charity reports, Tips on Giving, charity standards and links.

idealist: Action Without Borders - Global clearinghouse of nonprofit and volunteering resources.

Independent Sector - Membership organization that brings together foundations, nonprofit groups and corporate giving programs to support philanthropy, volunteering and citizen action.

International Center for Not-For-Profit Law - Their mission is to facilitate and support the development of a civil society on a global basis by assisting the creation and improvement of laws and regulatory systems that permit, encourage and regulate the not-for-profit sector in countries around the world. Includes online library and publications.

National Council of Nonprofit Associations - The state-by-state support network for nonprofit organizations. State associations of nonprofit organizations have emerged in the last 15 years. NCNA is a network of 40 state and regional associations with a collective membership of more than 20,000 community nonprofits. NCNA state associations represent all nonprofit organizations, large and small, well-established and starting up, in all fields of nonprofit effort: social service, education, health, and cultural activities.

Prospect Research Tips from Waltman Associates - A compilation of reference works for prospect research. A very large annotated section on sources and tips linked to databases, publications and internet sources.

The Learning Institute for Nonprofit Organizations - A comprehensive educational program for nonprofit managers, boards and volunteers delivered through satelitte conferences, online learning or videotapes. Included on this website are the extensive library of free materials including articles, classroom items, tools and links that make this an ideal learning center on nonprofit management. In total, this is an excellent overview of the nonprofit management profession, with extensive learning material resources. It is hosted by The University of Wisconsin Extension in collaboration with the Society for Nonprofit Organizations and United Way of America. Nine basic subject areas are covered in depth. These include: Strategic Planning, Resource Development, Board Governance, Marketing, Financial Management, Social Entrepreneurship, Volunteer Management, Strategic Alliances, and Outcome Measurement.

The Peter Drucker Foundation - Educational opportunities and resources to help lead social sector organizations toward excellence. Access to weekly email Nonprofit Innovation of the Week. Excerpts from excellent periodical, Leader to Leader; and an effectiveness assessment program.

Toolkit for Giving - Prepared by the Minnesota Council on Foundations, there are articles and links for the individual or corporate donor on a variety of topics that generally encourage philanthropy.
