F iling charitable state registrations and staying in compliance with all the state regulations can feel like navigating an endless maze. Let us guide you through the labyrinth, so you can focus on your mission. We handle all aspects of the state registration process.
We perform many services which can help ensure your charity is registered and can legally receive contributions. These include:
- Guiding charities through the process of filing their Annual State Registrations. We complete the forms, assemble the needed attachments, and make sure charities become and stay registered to solicit contributions. There are annual registration forms that are required to be filed in 40 states in order to allow a charity to solicit contributions in those states. We help you every step of the way and make the process easy for you.
- Registering charities to be included in State Employee Campaigns. State employee campaigns, also known as state combined campaigns, give state employees the opportunity to deduct money from their paycheck to support the nonprofit(s) of their choice and thus are a good fundraising tool for charities.
- Helping charities comply with the regulations and fill out the paperwork necessary to allow them to accept Charitable Gift Annuities. A Charitable Gift Annuity is an irrevocable gift of cash, securities, or other assets, in exchange for fixed sum payments and can be another great fundraising tool for nonprofits.
- We can help you with corporate registrations and can set up Registered Agents. Corporate registrations are needed in states where you are registered to do business and these often require registered agents in the states.

There are approximately 26 states which have laws governing fundraising counsels. Most state laws require registration prior to commencement of a charitable campaign. Failure to register in a timely fashion can lead to fines, civil suits, and states revoking the right to function as a fundraising counsel.
If your organization helps plan or prepare a fundraising campaign in any state, you probably have to register there. Each year several states change their laws and forms and this can make it tough for fundraisers to stay registered on their own. We can help you keep up with the changes.
We prepare all of the forms necessary to renew your registration in the states where you are currently registered or to register you in any new state in which your organization is not registered. We prepare the new and renewal forms for each state you request.
None of your confidential information is shared with anyone – unless requested by you.
